About Ted Yates

Ted’s passion for music began as a teenager growing up in Toronto in the most exciting decade of music, the 60’s. Those 45 rpm singles he played on a regular record player grew into a lifelong career in radio, playing the hits that were new then and ‘timeless’ now.

Ted Yates has been an on air radio broadcaster for over 35 years and is one of Canada’s foremost authorities/experts on the hits and artists of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.

He was most recently the Morning Show Host, Music Director and Program Director simultaneously on Canada’s Number One Oldies Station, 1150 CKOC in Hamilton, Ontario, with most of his listeners based in Toronto.

Ted has interviewed hundreds of music artists of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and beyond.

He is the author of 3 critically – acclaimed books,  – the 60’s, 70’s and the 80’s The Hits and The Trivia. Two of his published books found their way into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and the Smithsonian American History Museum in Washington.

Ted is now a freelance voiceover artist, trivia supplier, broadcaster, M.C. and writer.
